XROS 5: Screen shows "BATTERY LOW" and stops working

The screen displays a BATTERY LOW message and the device cuts out, refusing to fire. This is the built-in low-voltage protection activating because the battery has discharged too far to operate safely.

Why this happens

  • Battery has been fully or deeply discharged, triggering the low-voltage cut-off protection
  • Device was left switched on when not in use, draining the battery over time
  • Device stored in high or low temperatures outside the recommended 10 to 40°C range, which can accelerate battery drain

How to fix it

  1. Connect the device to a charger using the Type-C cable supplied in the box. Do not use a third-party cable if you can avoid it, as the in-box cable is matched to the charging spec.
  2. Check that the screen shows the charging animation with the current charge level displayed. If the animation appears, the device is charging correctly and the BATTERY LOW error will clear once sufficient charge has been restored.
  3. Charge using a source that supports DC 5V/3A or DC 9V/2A. A standard USB-C phone charger or wall adapter at these ratings is suitable. Avoid very low-output adapters such as old 5V/0.5A USB ports, as they may charge too slowly or not at all.
  4. Leave the device to charge until the screen indicates a full charge. The device will stop charging automatically when full, so there is no risk of overcharging.
  5. Once charged, test by firing normally. If the BATTERY LOW message returns immediately or the device still will not fire, the battery may have been over-discharged beyond recovery. In that case, contact Vaporesso support or the retailer, as the manual states repairs must only be carried out by Vaporesso.
  6. To avoid repeat occurrences, turn the device off when it is not in use and store it within the recommended temperature range of 10 to 40°C.
