Sonder Q2
The Sonder Q2 is a compact refillable pod kit built for MTL and RDTL vapers who want a step up in battery life, power and build quality without sacrificing portability.
Set up guide & tips
What Comes in the Box
The Sonder Q2 ships with the device and a Q pod cartridge, but no USB-C cable. You will need your own USB-C cable rated at 5V/1A to charge it. Most standard phone chargers will work, just avoid fast-charge adapters above those ratings.
Filling the Pod
The Sonder Q2 is compatible with two Q cartridge types: top-filling and side-filling pods. The filling method differs slightly between them.
Top-filling Q pods (0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.2Ω): Snap off the drip tip to reveal the fill port, fill the pod, then firmly press the drip tip back into place until it clicks.
Side-filling Q pods (0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.2Ω): Insert the tip of your e-liquid bottle into the side fill hole and squeeze gently. Do not overfill, as this can cause leakage around the pod connection.
After filling either pod type for the first time, wait at least 5 minutes before vaping. This gives the coil time to saturate fully, which protects it and improves flavour from the first puff.
Which E-liquid to Use
The resistance of your pod determines which e-liquid works best.
- 0.4Ω pod (25-30W, RDTL): Use a higher-VG e-liquid, a 70/30 VG/PG ratio works well. Freebase nicotine at 3mg or 6mg suits the looser, airier draw. Avoid high-strength nic salts at this resistance.
- 0.6Ω pod (18-25W, RDTL): A 50/50 or 70/30 blend works. Freebase nicotine at 6mg or 12mg, or a lower-strength nic salt at 10mg.
- 0.8Ω pod (12-18W, loose MTL): 50/50 e-liquids are the sweet spot. Nic salts at 10mg or 20mg work well here, as does freebase at 6mg to 12mg.
- 1.2Ω pod (8-12W, MTL): This is the tightest draw, closest to a cigarette pull. Use a 50/50 e-liquid with nic salts at 10mg or 20mg for the most satisfying hit. UK TPD rules cap nicotine at 20mg/ml for all refillable e-liquids.
Adjusting the Airflow
The side-mounted airflow dial lets you fine-tune the draw resistance independently of your pod choice. Open it fully for a looser, more airy pull; close it down for a tighter, more restricted MTL feel. It is worth experimenting, especially with the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods, where there is meaningful range between the two extremes.
Battery Indicator
The RGB LED ring around the fire button shows battery status. The light colour shifts as the battery depletes, giving you a quick at-a-glance read on charge level without needing a screen.

What is the difference between the Sonder Q and the Sonder Q2?
The Q2 upgrades the original in four key areas: output rises from 25W to 30W, battery grows from 1000mAh to 1350mAh (a 35% increase), the casing moves from plastic to aluminium alloy, and the lighting upgrades from a simple 3-colour LED to a full RGB ring. The Q2 also adds compatibility with the 0.4Ω side-filling pod.
What pods are compatible with the Sonder Q2?
The Sonder Q2 works with all Geekvape Q pod cartridges: the top-filling 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω pods, plus the side-filling 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω pods. Each resistance is colour-coded on the side-filling range, making it easy to identify at a glance.
How do I fill the Sonder Q2?
For top-filling pods, remove the drip tip, fill, then replace it firmly. For side-filling pods, insert your bottle tip into the side port and squeeze. Either way, do not overfill, and always wait 5 minutes after filling before your first puff to let the coil saturate.
How do I read the Sonder Q2 battery indicator?
The RGB LED ring on the device shows battery status as a colour display. It lights up each time you fire or click the button, giving you a real-time indication of remaining charge. When the battery is low, connect via USB-C at 5V/1A to recharge.
What colours does the Sonder Q2 come in?
The Sonder Q2 is available in sixteen colours: Apricot Yellow, Blinky Black, Burgundy Red, Fizzy Grape, Fizzy Lemon, Fizzy Mint, Fizzy Peach, Metallic Purple, Midnight Black, Misty Blue, Mocha Gold, Moonlight Silver, Ocean Blue, Olive Green, Rocket Silver and Sakura Pink.
Is the Sonder Q2 good for people switching from cigarettes?
Yes. The 1.2Ω pod at 8-12W with a 50/50 nic salt e-liquid gives a tight, cigarette-style draw that suits new switchers well. The adjustable airflow lets you dial in the restriction further, and the compact aluminium body is easy to carry and use one-handed.
