Drag X3
A sub ohm pod kit built around replaceable 18650 or 21700 batteries, 5-80W output and the PnP X coil platform, suiting experienced vapers who want DTL power with MTL flexibility.
Set up guide & tips
Insert Your Battery First
The Drag X3 runs on a single external 18650 or 21700 cell, sold separately. A 21700 will give you more capacity between charges; use the included adapter sleeve if you are running an 18650. Make sure the battery is charged before first use and always fit it with the correct polarity as marked inside the battery bay.
Filling the Pod
The Drag X3 ships with a PnP X DTL pod cartridge. Both this pod and any separate PnP X integrated cartridges use a side-fill silicone plug.
- Pull the pod free from the device using the magnetic connection.
- Locate the silicone plug on the side of the pod and open it.
- Fill to just below the maximum line, keeping the nozzle against the fill port to avoid air locks.
- Reseal the plug firmly.
Priming and Waiting
After filling, leave the pod to stand for at least five to ten minutes before vaping. The cotton inside the coil needs time to fully saturate. Skipping this step is the single most common cause of coil burnout.
Which E-Liquid to Use
Coil resistance determines what liquid works best here.
0.15 ohm coil (60-80W, DTL): Use a high-VG e-liquid, 70/30 VG/PG or higher. Shortfills work well. This coil produces significant vapour and warmth. Keep nicotine at 3mg freebase or a low-strength nic salt; anything above 10mg at this output will be harsh.
0.3 ohm coil (32-40W, RDL/MTL): Still suits high-VG liquid, though a 60/40 blend is also comfortable. Nic salts up to 10mg or freebase at 3-6mg are sensible choices. The restricted draw makes this the more versatile everyday option.
TPD note: UK regulations cap e-liquid nicotine at 20mg/ml in containers of 10ml or less, and tank capacity at 2ml. The Drag X3 pod is compliant at 2ml, so there is no need to restrict your fill.
Power Modes
- Smart Mode: the device reads your coil resistance and sets wattage automatically. Best default for most users.
- RBA Mode: lets you dial wattage manually across the full 5-80W range. Use this if Smart Mode caps you lower than you want.
- Eco Mode: reduces output slightly to extend battery life. Useful when you are away from a charger.
Airflow
The PnP X DTL pod has an adjustable airflow ring on the pod itself. Open it fully for a loose, airy DTL draw. Wind it down for a restricted direct lung or tighter RDL feel. There are no hard stops, but the tension is firm enough that it will not shift during normal use.
Locking the Device
Press the fire button five times quickly to power on. The Drag X3 uses a capacitive touch sensor on the button for unlock. A fingerprint-recognition style touch unlocks it; removing your finger re-locks it automatically. You can switch to a conventional button lock in the settings menu if you prefer a more straightforward approach.

Frequently asked questions
What battery does the Voopoo Drag X3 take?
The Drag X3 requires a single 18650 or 21700 battery, sold separately. A 21700 is the better choice for longer sessions as it holds more charge. An 18650 adapter sleeve is included in the box so both sizes work without modification.
What coils is the Voopoo Drag X3 compatible with?
The Drag X3 uses the PnP X coil platform. The kit ships with 0.15 ohm and 0.3 ohm mesh coils. The wider PnP X range also includes 0.2 ohm, 0.45 ohm and 0.6 ohm options, covering DTL, RDL and MTL styles. The 0.15 ohm coil is Drag X3 only and will not work in lower-powered devices.
How do I unlock the Voopoo Drag X3?
Touch the capacitive sensor on the fire button with your fingertip. The device recognises skin contact and unlocks immediately. It re-locks when you remove your finger. If you prefer a manual lock, go into the settings menu and switch to button-lock mode, then use two presses to lock and unlock.
How do I fill the Voopoo Drag X3 pod?
Pull the pod off the device, find the silicone plug on the side and open it. Fill slowly to avoid overflow, reseal the plug, then leave the pod to sit for five to ten minutes before vaping. If fitting a new coil, prime it with a few drops directly into the coil head first.
What e-liquid should I use in the Voopoo Drag X3?
Use a high-VG e-liquid, 70/30 or above, with either coil. The 0.15 ohm coil suits 3mg freebase nicotine at DTL wattages. The 0.3 ohm gives a more flexible RDL draw and works well with nic salts up to 10mg. Avoid thin 50/50 liquids at high wattages as they can flood the coil.
Does the Voopoo Drag X3 support mouth to lung vaping?
Yes, with the right coil and airflow setting. The 0.3 ohm coil at 32-40W with the airflow ring mostly closed produces a restricted draw that suits RDL and tighter MTL styles. A separate PnP X MTL pod with higher-resistance integrated coils is also compatible if you want a more committed MTL experience.
