Set up guide & tips
What's in the box
The G5 KOKO ships with the device, a 0.6Ω GPP pod pre-fitted, a USB-C cable, and a user manual. Check the pod is properly seated before your first charge.
Charging first
Plug in via USB-C (5V/2A) and charge fully before first use. The lightning icon on the display flashes during charging and remains steady at 99% battery when complete. Five clicks of the side button powers the device on.
Filling the pod
The GPP pods use a side-fill port. Remove the pod from the device, locate the silicone plug on the side, open it, and insert your bottle nozzle to fill. Replace the plug firmly, then reinsert the pod.
UK TPD note: pods sold in the UK are 2ml capacity. The 3ml figure you may see referenced relates to international versions. The pod platform and coils are identical.
Priming a new pod
After filling a new pod for the first time, leave it to stand for at least 10 minutes before vaping. This lets the e-liquid saturate the mesh coil fully. Vaping before the coil is primed is the single most common cause of a burnt hit on first use.
Choosing the right e-liquid
The resistance of the pod you use should guide your liquid choice:
- 0.4Ω (RDL): higher-VG shortfill (70VG/30PG or above) or a 10ml freebase. Suits lower nicotine strengths, 3mg to 6mg freebase.
- 0.6Ω (restricted RDL, included in kit): 50/50 or higher-VG works well. Nic salt at 10mg to 20mg or freebase at 3mg to 6mg.
- 0.9Ω (MTL): 50/50 e-liquid. Nic salts at 10mg to 20mg are ideal here.
- 1.2Ω (tight MTL): 50/50 e-liquid. This resistance suits higher-strength nic salts, 10mg to 20mg, and gives the closest feel to a cigarette draw.
Never exceed 20mg/ml nicotine in line with UK TPD rules.
Adjusting wattage and modes
Two presses of the fire button toggle between Waves mode (smooth, consistent power throughout the draw) and Storm mode (power ramps up as you inhale, giving more throat hit). Three presses steps the wattage up in 1W increments. The display shows your current mode, wattage, and battery level at a glance.
Airflow
The top-mounted airflow slider adjusts draw resistance from tighter MTL to a looser restricted direct-lung. You can also flip the pod 180 degrees in the device to change the airflow path for a second configuration with each pod resistance.

- How to set up and prime a new pod correctly You have a new pod or replacement cartridge and want to fill and prime it correctly before your first puff, avoiding a dry or burnt hit that damages the coil.
- Screen not turning on or staying blank The screen appears completely blank or will not light up when you try to use the device. It may have been working fine before, or it may not have come on at all since you last used it.
Frequently asked questions
Which pods are compatible with the Caliburn G5 KOKO?
The G5 KOKO uses Caliburn GPP pods in 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.9Ω, and 1.2Ω resistances. It is also backward compatible with Caliburn G3 and G4 series GPP pods. The kit includes a 0.6Ω pod. UK pods hold 2ml of e-liquid in line with TPD regulations.
Is there a Caliburn G5 KOKO Pro?
There is no separate device called the Caliburn G5 KOKO Pro. Searches for that term typically relate to the G5 KOKO itself, which is the flagship KOKO model in the G5 range. The wider G5 family includes the G5 flagship stick, G5 Light, and G5 Lite KOKO as separate devices.
When was the Caliburn G5 KOKO released?
The Caliburn G5 KOKO was released in 2026. It followed the Caliburn G4 series and introduced the Starlit Ocean colour display, dual output modes, and the updated leather-touch finish with colours carrying over from the Caliburn GK2.
What is the difference between Waves and Storm mode on the G5 KOKO?
Waves mode delivers consistent wattage throughout each draw, giving a smoother, more flavour-focused vape that is easier on battery. Storm mode ramps power up as you inhale, producing a stronger throat hit and slightly denser vapour. Switch between them with two presses of the fire button.
What e-liquid should I use with the Caliburn G5 KOKO?
With the included 0.6Ω pod, 50/50 or higher-VG e-liquids work well, with nic salts at 10mg to 20mg being a popular choice. For the 0.9Ω or 1.2Ω MTL pods, stick to 50/50 liquids and nic salts up to 20mg. Do not exceed 20mg/ml in line with UK TPD rules.
