Set up guide & tips
What's in the box
Your XROS 6 arrives with the device, two Corex pods (0.6 ohm pre-installed, 0.8 ohm spare), a USB-C cable, and a user manual. Give the device a charge before first use.
Filling the pod
The XROS 6 uses top-filling pods. Pull off the mouthpiece to expose the fill port, press the nozzle of your bottle into the red insert, and squeeze. Replace the mouthpiece firmly when done. The pod snaps into the device with fairly strong magnets, so you will feel and hear it seat properly.
Priming the coil
The XROS 6 has a dedicated 60-second Smart Prime feature, which is a genuine time-saver. After filling and inserting the pod, press the fire button twice to open the menu, navigate to Prime Coil, and press the fire button. The device runs a 60-second cycle. Once it finishes, you can vape straight away without the usual wait. If you prefer to skip it, leave the filled pod to sit for at least 10 minutes before your first draw.
Choosing your e-liquid
Both included pods are recommended for use with 50% VG e-liquids (50/50 or similar). Thick, high-VG shortfills designed for sub-ohm tanks will not wick properly through these coils and will cause dry hits.
- 0.8 ohm pod (included, spare): tighter MTL draw, suits 10-20mg nic salts or 6-12mg freebase
- 0.6 ohm pod (included, pre-installed): slightly more open, restricted DTL, suits 6-12mg nic salts or 3-6mg freebase
UK TPD rules cap e-liquids at 20mg/ml nicotine per 10ml bottle. Nic salts at 10-20mg pair well with the 0.8 ohm for a satisfying throat hit without harsh volume of vapour.
Controls at a glance
- 5 clicks: power on or off
- 4 clicks: lock or unlock the device
- 3 clicks: cycle through Eco, Normal, and Power modes
- 2 clicks: open the menu (themes, prime coil, power settings)
- The 0.4 ohm Corex pod (sold separately) unlocks variable wattage control in 0.5W increments
The adjustable airflow slider lets you fine-tune the draw resistance to taste. Open it up for the 0.6 ohm pod, close it down a touch for the 0.8 ohm MTL experience.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the XROS 5 and XROS 6?
The main upgrade is the battery, up from 1500mAh on the XROS 5 to 1800mAh on the XROS 6. Vaporesso also added the Venturi airflow system for a smoother draw, a new colour TFT screen, the 60-second Smart Prime feature, and SSS 2.0 leak-resistant technology.
Is there an XROS 6 Mini?
Yes, Vaporesso has announced the XROS 6 Mini alongside the standard XROS 6. The Mini is a smaller, more pocket-friendly variant of the same platform. Check the XROS 6 Mini page for its own specifications and setup notes.
How fast does the XROS 6 charge?
The XROS 6 supports 3A fast charging via USB-C. Vaporesso states that 10 minutes of charging provides enough power for a full day of vaping, with a full charge from flat taking around 45 minutes. Use a quality 3A-rated cable and plug to get those speeds reliably.
What pods are compatible with the XROS 6?
The XROS 6 works with the full range of Vaporesso XROS Corex pods: 0.4 ohm, 0.6 ohm, 0.8 ohm, 1.0 ohm, and 1.2 ohm. Variable wattage control (5-30W) is only accessible when the 0.4 ohm pod is installed. All other pods run in Eco, Normal, or Power mode.
How does the XROS 6 compare to the XROS Pro 2?
The XROS Pro 2 sits above the standard XROS line with more advanced output controls, while the XROS 6 keeps things more straightforward with its three-mode system and preset wattage by pod. The XROS 6 wins on battery size and fast-charging speed. If you want finer wattage control across all pods, the Pro 2 is the better fit.
