A high-powered DTL pod kit with a 3400mAh battery, 60W output, and dual mesh pods, suited to direct lung vapers who want box mod performance in a pocketable device.

Set up guide & tips

What's in the box

You get the VPrime 2 device, two dual mesh pods (0.4 ohm and 0.6 ohm), a USB-C cable, and documentation. The pods ship empty and dry.

Choosing your pod

Both pods included cover restricted direct lung (RDL) to open DTL territory. The 0.6 ohm is the gentler option, suits tighter draws and lower wattages, and works well with nic salts at 10mg or 20mg. The 0.4 ohm opens things up for a warmer, denser hit and pairs best with a 50/50 or 70/30 freebase e-liquid or shortfill.

For a first session, start with the 0.6 ohm pod and Eco mode. It is easier on the coil and gives you room to dial wattage up gradually.

Filling the pod

The fill port is on the underside of the pod. Open the rubber bung, insert your nozzle at an angle, and fill slowly to avoid air locks. In the UK, these pods hold 2ml in line with TPD regulations. Once filled, replace the bung firmly, then leave the pod to sit for at least five minutes before vaping. This lets the e-liquid saturate the dual mesh coil fully and prevents a dry, burnt first draw.

Priming tip

OXVA recommend starting in Eco mode with the wattage turned down before fitting a fresh pod. Boost mode at full power on a brand-new coil can stress the mesh before it is properly wetted through. Dial wattage up gradually until the flavour hits its best point, then stop there.

E-liquid guidance

  • 0.6 ohm pod: 50/50 VG/PG ratio works best. Compatible with nic salts up to 20mg/ml or freebase at lower strengths.
  • 0.4 ohm pod: 50/50 to 70/30 VG/PG. At this resistance and wattage range, thicker high-VG liquids handle well. Keep nicotine strength lower, 3mg to 6mg freebase is typical for this style of DTL vaping.

Eco and Boost modes explained

Four clicks cycles between Jewel, Eco, and Boost modes. Eco keeps the power band lower and extends both battery life and pod lifespan. Boost runs both mesh layers hard for maximum flavour and cloud output, at the cost of faster battery drain. For everyday use, Eco is the practical choice. Boost is there when you want it.

Button controls at a glance

  • 2 clicks: cycles display themes
  • 3 clicks: adjusts wattage
  • 4 clicks: switches between Jewel, Eco, and Boost modes
  • 5 clicks: powers the device on or off
  • 7 clicks: resets the puff counter

The side lock switch physically locks the device to prevent accidental firing. When locked, auto-draw still works, so the device stays ready to use without the button activating in your pocket.

Screen and display

The 0.98-inch colour screen shows current wattage, coil resistance, battery level, and a lock indicator. The display rotates to match how you are holding the device.

Charging

Charge via the USB-C port on the base. The VPrime 2 supports 5V/3A fast charging. Do not leave the device charging unattended overnight as a general best practice with any built-in lithium battery device.

Condensation and maintenance

Periodically check the pod connection area with a cotton bud. A small amount of condensation can build up in the airflow channel over time. Keeping it clean maintains draw quality and protects the contacts.

Frequently asked questions

What is the OXVA VPrime 2 and who is it for?

The VPrime 2 is a 60W direct lung pod kit with a 3400mAh built-in battery, dual mesh pods, and auto-draw activation. It suits vapers who want proper DTL cloud production without carrying a box mod and separate tank. Not designed for mouth-to-lung or tight nicotine salt vaping at high strengths.

When did the OXVA VPrime 2 come out?

The VPrime 2 is OXVA's follow-up to the original VPrime, upgrading the battery from 2600mAh to 3400mAh, the charging from 2A to 3A, and the coil technology from UniTech 2.0 to UniTech 3.0 dual mesh. It launched in 2025. Check the product listing for current UK availability.

What pods does the OXVA VPrime 2 use?

The VPrime 2 uses OXVA VPrime Dual Mesh pods. Two are included in the box, a 0.4 ohm and a 0.6 ohm. Replacement pods are sold separately. Original VPrime pods are cross-compatible with the device, though when used in the VPrime 2 they are limited to Eco mode only.

How long does the VPrime 2 battery last?

With a 3400mAh battery, most vapers get a full day of regular use in Eco mode. Running Boost at higher wattages will shorten that. The 5V/3A fast charge via USB-C recovers the battery quickly, with OXVA quoting 70% charge in around 30 minutes.

Why are the VPrime 2 pods only 2ml in the UK?

UK TPD (Tobacco Products Directive) regulations cap refillable e-cigarette tanks and pods at 2ml capacity. The pods themselves are physically capable of holding more (6ml versions exist outside the UK), but UK stock ships with a compliance bung fitted to restrict fill capacity to 2ml. This is standard across all UK-sold refillable pod kits, not specific to OXVA.

Can I use nic salts in the OXVA VPrime 2?

Yes, with the right pod. The 0.6 ohm pod at lower wattage is the more suitable option for nic salts, and 20mg/ml is the maximum legal nicotine strength in the UK. The 0.4 ohm pod runs at higher wattages where nic salts at 20mg would produce a very harsh throat hit, so freebase at lower strengths is the better match for that coil.
