Centaurus M100
A single-18650 sub ohm kit built around the Quest 2.0 chipset, suited to experienced DTL vapers who want a compact, lightweight mod with up to 100W of adjustable output.
Set up guide & tips
What's in the box
The Centaurus M100 kit ships with the mod, the Centaurus Sub Ohm Tank, a 0.2ohm UB Max X2 coil, a 0.3ohm UB Max X3 coil, and a USB-C cable. You will need to supply your own 18650 battery before you can use it.
Choosing your 18650 battery
The M100 takes a single 18650 cell. Use a battery from a reputable manufacturer with a continuous discharge rating suitable for the wattage you plan to run, and always charge it in a dedicated external charger or via the onboard USB-C port. Check the battery is not dented, torn or leaking before installing it. The magnetic battery door makes swapping cells quick and straightforward.
Installing the battery and powering on
Slide the magnetic battery door off, insert your 18650 observing the polarity markings inside the bay, and replace the door. Click the fire button five times quickly to power the device on or off. The 0.96" OLED screen will display your current wattage and battery level.
Priming your coil
Skipping this step is the most common cause of a burnt first hit.
- Fit the coil into the Centaurus Sub Ohm Tank and put a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton wicking ports on the side of the coil.
- Fill the tank via the quarter-turn top-fill cap, seat it on the mod, then leave everything to stand for at least five minutes. This gives the cotton time to fully saturate.
- Start at a lower wattage setting (around 40-50W) and take a couple of short, gentle draws before working up to your preferred power level.
Filling the tank
The Centaurus Tank uses a quarter-turn top-fill cap. Rotate the cap to open, fill carefully without getting liquid into the central airflow tube, then close the cap before vaping. The design is leakproof when seated correctly, but always store the device upright when not in use.
Which e-liquid to use
The UB Max coils are designed for direct-to-lung vaping at sub ohm resistances (0.2ohm and 0.3ohm). Use a high-VG e-liquid, ideally a 70/30 VG/PG ratio or higher. Standard shortfill e-liquids work perfectly here. If you are adding a nicotine shot, keep it at or below 20mg/ml and stay within TPD-compliant 10ml nicotine shot volumes. Avoid thin, high-PG or salt-nicotine liquids at these resistances as they can thin out too quickly, flood the coil, and deliver a harsh hit at higher wattages.
Adjusting wattage and airflow
Use the 3-in-1 jog dial around the fire button to adjust wattage up or down. The Centaurus Tank has stepless airflow control on the base ring. Open it up fully for a loose DTL draw, or restrict it slightly if you prefer something a touch more restricted. The 0.3ohm coil generally suits a slightly more restricted airflow than the 0.2ohm.
LED battery indicators
The M100 uses colour-coded LED indicators rather than a percentage readout alone.
- Purple (80-100%) - fully or well charged
- Green (60-80%) - good charge remaining
- Blue (40-60%) - mid charge
- White/empty circle (20-40%) - getting low, consider charging soon
- Red (0-20%) - charge now; output will cut off at 0%
If the indicator flashes three times with a purple light during use, the device has detected one of the following: low battery, no atomiser, a short circuit, or an internal temperature above 85°C. If the screen shows 'Over 10s', the device has triggered its 10-second continuous vaping cutoff, which is a standard safety feature.

What does the Centaurus M100 kit include?
The kit includes the M100 mod, the Centaurus Sub Ohm Tank, a 0.2ohm UB Max X2 coil, a 0.3ohm UB Max X3 coil, and a USB-C cable. An 18650 battery is not included and must be purchased separately.
What coils does the Centaurus M100 use?
The Centaurus Tank is compatible with Lost Vape UB Max coils. The kit ships with 0.2ohm and 0.3ohm options, both rated for sub ohm DTL vaping. Replacement UB Max coils are widely available and straightforward to swap using the tank's quick-slide coil system.
Can I use the Centaurus M100 for mouth-to-lung vaping?
The included UB Max coils and tank are designed for DTL vaping with high-VG e-liquids. The tank does support MTL coil options in theory, but out of the box this kit is built for open, direct-to-lung draws. If MTL is your primary style, a dedicated pod kit or MTL tank would serve you better.
What are the Centaurus M100 specs?
Output runs from 5 to 100W, resistance range is 0.1 to 3.0ohm, and it operates at 3.0V to 4.2V output voltage. The mod measures 92.7 x 38 x 26mm and charges at 5V/2A via USB-C. A single 18650 battery powers the device and is not included in the box.
Is there a custom or limited edition version of the Centaurus M100?
Lost Vape has released the Centaurus M100 in several colourways and finish options. Some retailers have stocked limited edition or custom panel variants. Availability of specific finishes varies, so check current stock listings for what is available at time of purchase.
