Nord 6

An 80W pod kit built around a 3800mAh battery and RPM 4 mesh coils, the Nord 6 suits vapers who want sub-ohm power in a pocketable, screen-equipped device without stepping up to a full box mod.

Set up guide & tips

What's in the box

You get the Nord 6 device, two pods (one side-fill with a 0.4 ohm Dual Core Dual Meshed coil pre-installed, one top-fill empty pod with a 0.15 ohm RPM 4 Meshed coil pre-installed), a USB-C cable, and a user guide.

Filling the pods

The two pods have different filling methods, so it's worth knowing which you have before you start.

Side-fill pod (0.4 ohm): Fill through the side port without removing the pod from the device. Locate the fill port on the side, press in or slide open the cover depending on your batch, then fill slowly with your chosen e-liquid. Avoid overfilling.

Top-fill pod (0.15 ohm): This one fills from the top. Remove the mouthpiece or cap to expose the fill port, fill to the line, then reseal before inserting into the device.

Priming your coils

Both pods come with coils pre-installed, but you should still prime before first use. Add a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton at the top of the coil, then fill the pod and leave it to sit for at least ten minutes before taking your first puff. Skipping this step is the most common cause of a burnt taste from a brand-new coil.

Choosing the right e-liquid

The correct e-liquid depends on which pod you are using.

0.15 ohm pod (DTL, up to 80W): Use a high-VG e-liquid, 70/30 VG/PG or higher. Shortfill e-liquids topped up with a nicotine shot work well here. Stick to nicotine strengths of 3mg to 6mg freebase. The open airflow and high power output make higher nicotine levels uncomfortable at this resistance.

0.4 ohm pod (DTL to RDTL, up to 40W): High-VG shortfills still work well. If you close the airflow down for a tighter draw, you can also use a 50/50 e-liquid. Nic salts at 10mg or 20mg are an option on a more restricted airflow setting, keeping the throat hit manageable. UK TPD rules cap nicotine e-liquids at 20mg/ml and bottles at 10ml, which is why shortfills (nicotine-free, up to 50ml) paired with separate nic shots are the standard route for 50ml fills.

First use tips

  • Charge the device fully via USB-C before your first session.
  • The kit auto-sets wattage when it detects the coil resistance. You can override this manually via the touchscreen or fire button.
  • Use the lock switch to disable the manual fire button if you prefer auto-draw only, which also reduces the chance of pocket firing.
  • Start in Normal power mode and try Smooth if you want a gentler ramp-up, or Boost once you are confident the coil is well saturated.

Frequently asked questions

What pods does the Smok Nord 6 use?

The Nord 6 uses Smok Nord 6 pods and is compatible with RPM 4 coils. Two pods come in the box: a side-fill pod with a 0.4 ohm Dual Core Dual Meshed coil, and a top-fill pod with a 0.15 ohm RPM 4 Meshed coil. Replacement RPM 4 coils fit the top-fill pod directly.

What is the capacity of the Smok Nord 6 5ml pod?

Both the side-fill and top-fill Nord 6 pods hold 5ml of e-liquid. Note that in the UK the TPD caps refillable pods at 2ml for nicotine-containing e-liquid in commercial kits, so if your device shipped with a TPD-compliant pod, check the pod label. The 5ml capacity applies when filled with nicotine-free shortfill e-liquid.

Is the Smok Nord 6 available in the UK?

Yes, the Smok Nord 6 is available from UK retailers including ourselves. Because it is a refillable kit rather than a closed pod system, standard UK TPD rules apply to the e-liquids and nic shots you use with it rather than to the hardware itself.

How do I change the coil on the Smok Nord 6?

The 0.15 ohm top-fill pod uses a replaceable RPM 4 coil: pull the old coil out from the base of the pod and press the new one firmly in until it seats. The 0.4 ohm side-fill pod comes as a pre-built disposable unit, meaning you replace the whole pod rather than just the coil when it is spent.

How long does the Smok Nord 6 battery last?

The 3800mAh built-in battery is large for a pod kit. At moderate wattages (30 to 40W) most vapers will comfortably get through a full day. Running at 80W with the 0.15 ohm coil will drain it faster. Switching to Smooth power mode reduces battery draw if you need to stretch the charge.

What wattage should I use on the Smok Nord 6?

The device auto-sets wattage for each coil. The 0.4 ohm pod runs best between 16W and 40W, and the 0.15 ohm pod between 40W and 80W. Start at the lower end of the range for each coil and increase gradually until you find the vapour and flavour balance you prefer.
