Aegis Mini 5 75W

A compact, IP67-rated box mod kit with a 3200mAh built-in battery, 75W output, and the Z Nano 3 top-airflow tank, suited to DTL, RDL, and MTL vapers who want a tough, capable daily driver.

Set up guide & tips

Fitting Your Coil

The Z Nano 3 tank uses Geekvape B Series coils. The kit includes two: a 0.2 ohm for DTL vaping and a 0.4 ohm for RDL. Push the coil up into the base of the tank until it clicks into place. Do not fill the tank before the coil is seated.

Priming the Coil

Before you fill, prime the coil. Put two or three drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton wicking ports on the side of the coil. This pre-saturates the cotton and reduces the risk of a burnt first draw.

Once filled, leave the tank to stand for five minutes before vaping. If you are fitting a 0.2 ohm DTL coil, give it a full ten minutes given the larger coil head.

Filling the Tank

The Z Nano 3 uses a push-to-refill top cap. Push the top section down firmly, hold it there, and fill through the exposed port. Release the cap when done. There is nothing to unscrew. Keep the tank upright while filling.

The tank holds 2ml, which is the UK TPD maximum for refillable tanks.

Choosing the Right E-Liquid

Which coil you have fitted matters here:

  • 0.2 ohm (DTL, 50 to 58W): Use a high-VG e-liquid, 70/30 or 80/20 VG/PG. Freebase nic at 3mg or 6mg suits the higher power. Shortfills are ideal. Do not use nic salt at this resistance.
  • 0.4 ohm (RDL, 25 to 30W): A 50/50 or 60/40 VG/PG blend works well. Freebase at 6mg to 12mg, or a low-strength nic salt at 10mg if you want a smoother draw.
  • 0.8 ohm or 1.2 ohm (MTL, purchased separately): These are the coils to choose if you want a tighter draw closer to a cigarette. Use nic salts at up to 20mg/ml with a 50/50 e-liquid. Do not exceed 20mg/ml in any UK-compliant setup.

First Power-On

Press the fire button five times quickly to switch the device on. The 0.87in OLED screen will show your current wattage, battery level, resistance, and puff count. The device reads your coil resistance when you screw the tank on.

Three modes are available: VW (variable wattage, where you set the wattage yourself), Power (the device reads the coil and suggests an appropriate output automatically), and Bypass (raw battery voltage sent to the coil, for experienced vapers only).

For most people, VW mode is the right choice. Set your wattage within the recommended range for whichever coil you have fitted and adjust from there to taste.

Adjusting Airflow

The Z Nano 3 has adjustable top airflow. Open it fully for DTL vaping with the 0.2 ohm coil. Dial it back for a more restricted draw with the 0.4 ohm. If you have fitted a 0.8 or 1.2 ohm coil for MTL use, close the airflow down to a narrow gap.

Frequently asked questions

What coils does the Geekvape Aegis Mini 5 use?

The Z Nano 3 tank is compatible with the full Geekvape B Series coil range. The kit ships with a 0.2 ohm DTL coil and a 0.4 ohm RDL coil. You can also buy 0.8 ohm and 1.2 ohm B Series coils separately for MTL vaping and nic salts.

Can I use nic salts in the Aegis Mini 5?

Yes, but only with higher-resistance B Series coils. The included 0.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm coils run at higher wattages where nic salts at 20mg/ml would give an uncomfortably harsh hit. Fit a 0.8 ohm or 1.2 ohm coil and use nic salts up to 20mg/ml with a 50/50 e-liquid.

How do I stop the Aegis Mini 5 leaking?

The Z Nano 3 uses top airflow, which places the air inlet above the coil rather than at the base. This design largely eliminates the flooding and gurgling you get with bottom-airflow tanks. Keep the tank upright when not in use and do not overfill past the 2ml mark.

How long does the 3200mAh battery last and how do I charge it?

Battery life depends on how hard you vape. At 25 to 30W with the 0.4 ohm coil, expect a full day from a single charge for moderate vapers. At 50 to 58W with the 0.2 ohm, you may need a top-up by early evening. Charge via the USB-C port at 5V/3A.

What is Power Mode and should I use it?

Power Mode reads your fitted coil and sets the output automatically. It is useful if you want a no-fuss setup or are new to variable wattage mods. VW mode gives you manual control, which is worth learning once you know your preferred wattage for a given coil. Either is perfectly valid.

Is the Aegis Mini 5 genuinely waterproof?

It is IP67 rated, which means it is sealed fully against dust and can handle water splashes, rain, and accidental drops in puddles. It is not rated for submersion, so do not vape in the shower or drop it in a sink full of water and expect it to survive.
