Argus G4
A variable-wattage pod kit built around a clever multi-ohm pod system, suiting MTL and RDL vapers who want one device that adapts to their style.
Set up guide & tips
Priming Your Coil
The coils in the Argus Multi-Ohm pods are built in, so you cannot swap them independently. Before your first fill, prime properly to avoid a harsh, burnt first vape.
- Add your e-liquid through the top-fill port
- Leave the filled pod to sit for five to ten minutes before vaping
- Take two or three short, gentle draws without firing the device to draw liquid into the coil
- Start at a lower wattage and work up gradually
Skipping this step is the most common reason for a burnt taste straight out of the box, so it is worth doing every time you start a fresh pod.
Filling the Pod
The Argus G4 uses top-fill. Open the fill port on the top of the pod, add your e-liquid, and close it firmly before reinserting the pod into the device. Keep the device upright for a couple of minutes after filling if you can.
Which E-Liquid to Use
The pod's three resistance settings genuinely change which liquid works best, so match them up correctly.
1.0 ohm (MTL): Tight, cigarette-style draw. Use nicotine salts at 10mg or 20mg with a 50/50 or 60/40 VG/PG ratio. Smooth, efficient, and ideal for all-day vaping. Freebase at lower strengths also works well here.
0.7 ohm (balanced MTL/RDL): A slightly more open draw with more vapour and flavour. Nicotine salts work well, as do 50/50 freebase liquids. Keep nicotine at or below 20mg to stay within TPD limits for the UK market.
0.4 ohm (RDL): More airflow, warmer vapour, increased cloud production. Use freebase nicotine at lower strengths, ideally 3mg to 6mg, or a high-VG shortfill topped up with a nic shot. Nicotine salts at 20mg would be too harsh at this resistance for most people.
Switching Between Resistance Modes
This is the clever part of the G4. The pod reads its own resistance based on which way round you insert it, and the device auto-adjusts the wattage to match. Inserting the pod with the fill port facing left gives you 1.0 ohm. Flip it so the fill port faces right and it reads 0.7 ohm. A double-tap of the fire button cycles it to 0.4 ohm. You can switch on the fly without refilling or changing pods.
Display and Controls
The 0.85-inch TFT colour screen shows wattage, resistance, battery level, and puff count. Five clicks of the fire button enters the menu, where you can change display themes and clear the puff counter. Three clicks while the device is on lets you adjust wattage up and down within the range appropriate for the installed resistance. Everything else is a long press.
Charging is via USB-C on the side of the device. A full charge from flat takes around 45 minutes at 5V/2A.

Troubleshooting
- Battery drains quickly or keeps turning off The battery level drops faster than expected during normal use, or the device cuts out before the battery indicator reaches empty.
- Device won't fire or produce vapour You press the fire button or draw on the pod and nothing happens, no vapour, no airflow, no response from the device.
- Fire button not responding or feels stuck You press the fire button and nothing happens, or the button feels stiff and unresponsive. The device may otherwise appear powered on but simply will not fire.
Frequently asked questions
How does the multi-ohm pod switching actually work?
Insert the pod with the fill port facing left for 1.0 ohm, or flip it so the fill port faces right for 0.7 ohm. A double-tap of the fire button switches to 0.4 ohm. The device detects the orientation and adjusts wattage automatically. You do not need to change pods or manually set resistance.
How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?
The built-in 1650mAh battery charges via the USB-C port on the side of the device. A full charge takes approximately 45 minutes at 5V/2A. Real-world battery life varies by wattage and how frequently you vape, but the battery holds up well across a day of regular use.
What e-liquid should I use in the Argus G4?
It depends on which resistance you are running. The 1.0 ohm setting suits nicotine salts up to 20mg. The 0.7 ohm setting works with salts or 50/50 freebase up to 20mg. The 0.4 ohm setting is best with lower-strength freebase or high-VG liquids at 3mg to 6mg. Exceeding 20mg nicotine is outside UK TPD limits regardless of device.
How long does an Argus Multi-Ohm pod last?
Coil longevity depends on your wattage, how often you vape, and the VG content of your liquid. Based on hands-on use, flavour stays strong for well over 2,000 puffs and tapers off gradually rather than dropping sharply. Switching between resistance orientations mid-pod life can refresh the flavour slightly, as different areas of the mesh engage at each setting.
