Filling the Pod
The DotPod Max Lite uses a top-fill cartridge, so there is no need to disassemble the pod to add liquid. Open the fill port on the top of the cartridge, fill to just below the maximum line, and close the port firmly before inserting the pod into the device.
Priming a New Coil or Cartridge
With the built-in coil cartridges (0.6 ohm and 1.0 ohm), the coil is fixed inside the pod, so you cannot drip directly onto exposed wicking material. Instead, fill the pod, seal it, then leave it to sit for five minutes before vaping. This gives the e-liquid time to saturate the wick fully and avoids a dry or burnt hit on first use.
If you are using an empty cartridge with a swappable DotCoil, seat the coil into the pod before filling. Same approach: fill, seal, wait five minutes.
Which E-liquid to Use
1.0 ohm cartridge (MTL): This is your tight, cigarette-style draw. Use nic salts or 50/50 e-liquids. Nic salts at 10mg or 20mg work well here and deliver a smooth, satisfying hit without harshness. Keep wattage toward the lower end of the output range for this coil.
0.6 ohm cartridge (RDL/DL): This is a more open, airy draw with more vapour. Use a higher-VG e-liquid, such as a shortfill topped up with a nic shot, or a freebase liquid at 3mg or 6mg. Higher VG liquid handles the warmer, higher-wattage output of this coil better than a thin 50/50.
DotCoils in an empty cartridge: Resistance and liquid recommendation will vary by the specific DotCoil fitted. Check the coil packaging for the recommended wattage range and match your liquid VG ratio accordingly.
Airflow and Wattage
The DotPod Max Lite has adjustable airflow, which lets you fine-tune the draw resistance independently of wattage. Start with a mid-range wattage for whichever coil you are using, adjust the airflow to your preferred draw, then dial wattage up or down to taste. The 0.87-inch colour screen shows your current wattage clearly, and you can also switch between the Core, Volt, and Mech screen themes if you want to change the display look.
