Caliburn G5
A 1600mAh pod kit built for all-day MTL and restricted DTL vaping, with smart wattage detection, a TFT screen, and stepless airflow control.
Set up guide & tips
Charge First
The G5 ships partially charged, but a full charge before first use is good practice. Plug in via the USB-C port (5V/2A) and the TFT screen will show charging progress. From empty, expect around 50 minutes to a full charge.
Priming the Pod
Skipping this step is the most common cause of a burnt hit, so do not rush it.
- Peel the sticker from the base of the pod to open the air channel.
- Remove the mouthpiece to access the top-fill port.
- Fill with your chosen e-liquid, leaving a small air gap at the top.
- Replace the mouthpiece and leave the filled pod upright for at least 10 minutes before vaping. This lets the e-liquid saturate the mesh coil fully.
Inserting the Pod
Slide the filled, primed pod into the device until it clicks into place. Smart Mode will detect the coil resistance automatically and set an appropriate wattage, so you do not need to adjust anything manually before your first draw.
Choosing the Right E-Liquid
The G5 uses GPP pods with coil resistances ranging from 0.4 ohm to 1.2 ohm. E-liquid choice should follow the coil you are using.
- 0.6 ohm and 0.9 ohm (MTL): 50/50 VG/PG or a high-PG nic salt works well here. These resistances suit a tighter, cigarette-like draw. Nic salts at 10mg or 20mg are a solid match for ex-smokers.
- 0.4 ohm (RDTL): Still works best with 50/50, though a slightly higher VG (up to 60%) is acceptable. The draw is more open and vapour production increases noticeably.
Avoid high-VG shortfill liquids (70/30 and above) in any of the GPP pods. The coils cannot wick fast enough and you will get dry hits.
Power Modes
Triple-tap the device to cycle between Waves Mode (consistent, battery-friendly output) and Storm Mode (a wattage boost for stronger flavour). For everyday use, Waves Mode is efficient. Storm Mode is worth trying if you want more from a fresh pod.
Airflow
The side-mounted slider gives you stepless airflow adjustment. Closed down, the draw is tight MTL. Open it up and you move toward a more restricted DTL feel. Start tighter and open gradually until the draw feels right for you.

What is the difference between the Caliburn G5 and the Caliburn G5 Koko?
The G5 is a taller, bar-style pod kit with a 1600mAh battery and a TFT display. The G5 Koko is a more compact, pocket-friendly variant in the same series. Both use GPP-compatible pods, but the G5 carries a noticeably larger battery for longer use between charges.
What pods are compatible with the Caliburn G5?
The G5 works with all Uwell GPP pods (0.4, 0.6, 0.9 and 1.2 ohm) and Caliburn G3 pods (0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 ohm). The kit includes a 0.4 ohm GPP pod, a 0.6 ohm GPP pod, and a 0.6 ohm GPP Alpha pod with the extended-lifespan AlphaCore coil.
Is the Caliburn G5 suitable for beginners?
Yes. Inhale activation means there is no fire button to worry about, and Smart Mode sets the wattage automatically when you insert a pod. The adjustable airflow and two power modes give you room to experiment as you get comfortable, without overwhelming you from the start.
What is the Caliburn G5 Pro and has it been released?
The Caliburn G5 Pro is a higher-specified variant in the G5 series. Release dates and full specs had not been confirmed at the time this page was written. Check the Uwell Caliburn series page for updates as they are confirmed.
How long does the Caliburn G5 battery last?
Uwell rates the 1600mAh battery at up to six days of typical use, though real-world longevity depends on your wattage setting, coil resistance and how frequently you vape. Storm Mode draws more power than Waves Mode, so switching to Waves when you are running low will stretch the charge further.
Can I use nic salts in the Caliburn G5?
Yes, and for most MTL vapers they are the best choice. With the 0.6 ohm or 0.9 ohm pods, a 10mg or 20mg nic salt in a 50/50 base gives a smooth, satisfying hit without the harshness you can get from freebase at higher strengths. Keep nicotine at or below 20mg/ml to stay within UK TPD limits.
