Set up guide & tips
What's in the box
Your Argus Z3 arrives with the device, a 0.7ohm/1.0ohm Argus Multi-Ohm pod already fitted, a USB-C charging cable, and a user manual. Give the battery a full charge before your first session.
Charging
Plug in via the USB-C port at 5V/1A. A full charge takes around 70 minutes. The four-LED battery indicator shows charge level in 25% increments, so you can see at a glance when you're good to go.
Filling the pod
The Argus Multi-Ohm pod is top-filling. Remove the pod from the device by pulling it upward, then locate the silicone fill port on the top edge. Open it, fill slowly to avoid air pockets, and seal it back firmly before reinserting. The pod holds 2ml, which is the UK TPD maximum for a refillable cartridge.
Priming your coil
Voopoo haven't published specific priming steps for the Multi-Ohm pod, but the coil is built in rather than replaceable, so standard practice applies. Fill the pod, wait at least five minutes before your first puff, and start on a few gentle draws before vaping normally. This wicks the coil properly and helps avoid a dry, burnt first hit.
Choosing the right resistance
The Multi-Ohm pod switches between its two built-in coils simply by rotating the pod 180 degrees.
- 0.7ohm: slightly more vapour production, suits vapers who prefer a slightly more open MTL draw. The LED indicator shows blue when this coil is active.
- 1.0ohm: tighter, closer-to-cigarette draw with a smaller cloud. The LED shows green when active.
Both resistances deliver a mouth-to-lung inhale, so neither is a direct-to-lung setup.
Which e-liquid to use
Both coils pair best with a 50/50 (50% PG, 50% VG) or similar higher-PG e-liquid. Higher-VG shortfills are too thick for these pods and will cause wicking issues.
- 0.7ohm coil: 10mg to 20mg nic salt works well. If you're using freebase, 6mg to 12mg is a comfortable range.
- 1.0ohm coil: the tighter draw suits 10mg to 20mg nic salt particularly well, especially for people switching from cigarettes.
Keep nicotine within TPD limits of 20mg/ml maximum for any e-liquid bought in the UK.
Airflow
There is an adjustable airflow slider on the device. Close it down for a tighter, more cigarette-like draw, or open it slightly for a smoother, airier MTL. It makes a noticeable difference between the two coils, so it's worth experimenting when you swap resistance.
Compatible pods
The Z3 works with the full Argus pod family, covering resistances from 0.4ohm to 1.0ohm, including Argus, Argus Snap, and Argus Multi-Ohm pods.

What is the Voopoo Argus Z3?
The Argus Z3 is a refillable pod kit from Voopoo's Argus series. It runs 5W to 20W, holds a 2ml TPD-compliant pod, and uses auto-draw activation with no buttons. It suits MTL vapers who want a low-fuss, all-day device with a degree of flexibility over their draw style.
What does the dual-ohm (Multi-Ohm) pod actually do?
The Argus Multi-Ohm pod contains two built-in coils. Rotating the pod 180 degrees physically switches between the 0.7ohm and 1.0ohm coil. The 0.7ohm gives a slightly more open draw with more vapour; the 1.0ohm tightens things up and brings it closer to a cigarette feel. The LED changes colour to confirm which coil is active.
What pods are compatible with the Argus Z3?
The Argus Z3 is compatible with all standard Argus, Argus Snap, and Argus Multi-Ohm pods, covering a resistance range of 0.4ohm to 1.0ohm. The device uses Smart Mode to automatically detect which pod is fitted and adjust output accordingly, so there's no manual wattage setting required.
How do I read the battery indicator on the Argus Z3?
The four LEDs on the front of the device represent battery level in quarter stages: four lights means 75-100%, three lights means 50-74%, two lights means 25-49%, and a single flashing light means you're below 25%. Charge via USB-C before it drops to one bar to avoid output inconsistency.
How long does the Argus Z3 battery last?
The 1100mAh built-in battery is designed for all-day use under typical MTL vaping patterns. Actual duration depends on how heavily you vape and which wattage the device selects. Charging takes around 70 minutes from flat via USB-C at 5V/1A.
What e-liquid should I use in the Argus Z3?
Use a 50/50 or higher-PG e-liquid with the included Multi-Ohm pod. High-VG liquids won't wick properly through these coils. Nic salts at 10mg or 20mg are ideal for both resistances. Stay within the UK TPD limit of 20mg/ml for nicotine strength.
