Centaurus V2 Sub-Ohm Tank
A direct-to-lung and restricted direct-to-lung tank from Lost Vape, suited to sub-ohm vapers who want high-VG flavour, adjustable airflow, and a no-fuss top-fill system.
Set up guide & tips
Filling the Tank
The Centaurus V2 uses a top slide filling system with a twist-and-push safety lock. To open the fill port, twist the top cap to disengage the lock and then push it to slide it open. Fill slowly to avoid air pockets, then close the port firmly until it clicks back into the locked position. The safety lock is there to prevent accidental openings in your pocket or bag, so make sure it is fully engaged before you put the tank away.
UK TPD note: If you have the TPD-compliant version, the tank holds 2ml. Non-TPD versions are available in 5ml and 3ml configurations. The 2ml limit is a UK and EU regulatory requirement, not a hardware restriction.
Priming the Coil
Before your first vape, prime the coil properly to avoid a dry, burnt hit.
- Remove the coil and apply two or three drops of your e-liquid directly onto each visible cotton port on the side of the coil head.
- Reinstall the coil, fill the tank, and then leave it to stand for five to ten minutes. This gives the mesh time to fully saturate.
- Start at the lower end of the coil's wattage range and work up gradually over your first few pulls rather than going straight to full power.
Choosing the Right E-Liquid
The Centaurus V2 is designed for high-VG e-liquids. A 70/30 VG/PG ratio or higher is the sweet spot.
- 0.15ohm UB Max X1 coil (80W to 120W): Use a 70/30 or 80/20 high-VG shortfill or mix. This coil is built for cloud-forward DTL vaping with good flavour. Pair it with a 3mg or 6mg freebase nicotine shortfill, as the vapour volume at these wattages makes higher strengths very harsh.
- 0.3ohm UB Max X3 coil (40W to 60W): Still a sub-ohm DTL coil, but the lower wattage range makes it a better fit for flavour-focused sessions or vapers who prefer a slightly cooler, more restricted draw. A 6mg freebase shortfill works well here. Nic salts above 10mg are not recommended at these wattages or on sub-ohm coils.
Airflow Adjustment
The top airflow design is fully adjustable. Open it right up for a loose, airy DTL draw, or close it down partially for a more restricted RDL feel. The top airflow placement also helps reduce leaking compared with bottom-airflow tanks, as condensation has less opportunity to pool and find its way down to the 510 connector.
Compatible Mods
The tank fits any mod with a standard 510 connection and a wattage output of at least 40W. It was designed alongside the Lost Vape Centaurus series (including the Solo 100 Pro, and Q200 Pro), but it will sit and perform well on any capable dual-battery or single-battery box mod that can sustain 80W to 120W for the X1 coil.

What is the Lost Vape Centaurus V2 Sub-Ohm Tank and how does it differ from the original?
The Centaurus V2 is an updated sub-ohm tank that replaces the original's screw-to-fill port with a slide-open top-fill system and a twist-and-push safety lock. It also moves to the UB Max V2 coil range. The core dimensions and 510 connection remain compatible with the same Centaurus mods.
Which coils are compatible with the Centaurus V2 Tank?
The Centaurus V2 is compatible with the UB Max V2 coil range. The tank ships with a 0.15ohm UB Max X1 coil (rated 80W to 120W) and a 0.3ohm UB Max X3 coil (rated 40W to 60W). Both are push-fit for straightforward installation and removal.
What e-liquid should I use in the Centaurus V2?
Use a high-VG e-liquid, ideally 70/30 VG/PG or higher. Thin, high-PG liquids can cause leaking and will burn out the mesh coil faster. For nicotine strength, 3mg to 6mg freebase works best at the wattages this tank operates at. Avoid nic salts above 10mg on sub-ohm coils.
What capacity does the Centaurus V2 Tank hold?
The UK TPD-compliant version holds 2ml. Non-TPD versions are available with a 5ml standard glass tube and a 3ml spare tube included in the box. The 2ml restriction is a regulatory requirement for tanks sold in the UK and EU, not a hardware limitation.
How do I stop the Centaurus V2 Tank from leaking?
Prime your coil fully before the first fill, keep the airflow closed when the tank is not in use, and always ensure the fill port safety lock is engaged after topping up. The top airflow design reduces leak risk significantly compared with bottom-airflow tanks, but a poorly primed or flooded coil can still cause gurgling and condensation.
Can I use the Centaurus V2 Tank on any mod, or only Lost Vape devices?
The tank uses a standard 510 connection, so it fits the vast majority of box mods. It performs best on a mod capable of sustained output between 40W and 120W. While it is designed to complement the Lost Vape Centaurus range, it works well on any suitable dual-battery or high-wattage single-battery mod.
