Charging before first use
Plug in via USB-C before you do anything else. The 2500mAh battery is large for this class of kit, so a first charge may take a little while at 5V/2A. The OLED display shows battery level, so you can keep an eye on progress. Once full, unplug and get the pod ready.
Choosing the right cartridge
0.8 ohm ORI cartridge (MTL): This is the tighter draw. Pair it with nic salts (10mg or 20mg) or a 50/50 e-liquid. Run it in the lower half of the wattage range for a cooler, more cigarette-like pull. If you are switching from smoking, this is the cartridge to start with.
0.4 ohm ORI cartridge (RDL): This is the more open, warmer draw. Use a higher-VG shortfill or freebase liquid at lower nicotine strengths, typically 3mg or 6mg. Push the wattage higher to get the best flavour and vapour production from this coil.
Filling the pod
The ORI 35 uses a top-fill system. Remove the cartridge from the device, locate the fill port on the top of the pod, and fill slowly to avoid flooding the coil. Do not overfill. Once filled, replace the silicone stopper firmly.
Priming the coil
Because the coils are built into the cartridge, priming matters. After filling, leave the cartridge to sit for at least five minutes before vaping. This gives the e-liquid time to saturate the coil mesh fully. If you fire too early, you risk a dry hit that can degrade the coil and leave a burnt taste that is hard to shift. Once primed, start at a lower wattage and work up.
Airflow adjustment
The ORI 35 has a physical airflow control that lets you dial the draw from a loose RDL pull to a tighter MTL hit. Adjust it to match the cartridge you are using. The 0.8 ohm works best with the airflow more restricted; the 0.4 ohm benefits from a more open setting.
Firing
The device supports both auto-draw and button firing. Auto-draw is useful for an instinctive, cigarette-like experience. Button firing gives you a little more control over when the coil heats. Either works fine day to day.
