OXVA XLIM 4

A compact 30W pod kit built around OXVA's UNITECH 3.0 cartridge technology, suited to MTL and RDL vapers who want fast priming, reliable flavour, and a 1600mAh battery in a slim form factor.

Set up guide & tips

What's in the box

The XLIM 4 ships with the device, at least one XLIM Top Fill Cartridge UNITECH 3.0, a Type-C charging cable, and documentation. Check the box before you prime anything.

Charging before first use

The battery is a built-in 1600mAh cell. Charge via the Type-C port at 5V/2A before first use. A full charge from empty typically takes around an hour. The ring light indicates charge status, so keep an eye on it while it is plugged in.

Filling the pod

The XLIM 4 uses the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge UNITECH 3.0, which fills from the top of the cartridge rather than via a side port or by removing the pod base. Lift or slide the fill port cover, angle the nozzle of your e-liquid bottle in, fill to the 2ml mark (the UK TPD-compliant capacity), and reseal. Do not overfill.

Priming the coil

One of the standout features of the UNITECH 3.0 cartridge is the priming time. Where most pod coils need five minutes of resting after filling, the UNITECH 3.0 is ready in around 30 seconds. Still worth waiting the full 30 seconds rather than taking a dry hit straight away, as a dry hit will degrade the coil immediately.

Which coil to use

The XLIM 4 accepts 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, and 0.8ohm cartridges.

  • 0.4ohm sits at the DTL/RDL end. Run this on a high-VG 70/30 shortfill or a lower-strength nic salt (10mg maximum recommended). Output will be at or near the 30W ceiling, so expect warmer, denser vapour.
  • 0.6ohm is an RDL sweet spot. Works well on 50/50 or 60/40 VG-biased e-liquids at 10mg to 20mg nic salts. Draw is looser than MTL but still controlled.
  • 0.8ohm is the MTL option. Tighter draw, cooler vapour, ideal for 20mg nic salts on 50/50 or higher-PG blends. If you are switching from cigarettes, start here.

E-liquid to use

Match your e-liquid to your coil resistance. Higher-ohm coils (0.8ohm) suit higher-PG, higher-nicotine nic salts. Lower-ohm coils (0.4ohm) need higher-VG to avoid a harsh hit and work best at lower nicotine strengths. UK TPD rules cap e-liquid nicotine at 20mg/ml and the XLIM 4 pod at 2ml, so any compliant nic salt or shortfill topped with a nic shot will work fine.

Understanding the ring light

The ring light on the XLIM 4 serves three roles. It shows which of the three power levels (low, medium, high) is currently active, it shows battery charge status, and it can be switched to a customisable glow effect if you prefer aesthetics over status readouts. The colour and behaviour of the light changes based on which mode you are in.

Frequently asked questions

What is the OXVA XLIM 4?

The OXVA XLIM 4 is a 30W refillable pod kit using the UNITECH 3.0 top-fill cartridge system and a 1600mAh built-in battery. It accepts 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, and 0.8ohm pods, covering DTL, RDL, and MTL styles, with a fast 30-second coil prime time.

How does the XLIM 4 differ from other kits in the XLIM range?

The XLIM 4 uses the newer UNITECH 3.0 cartridge with its 30-second prime time, versus the older few-minute wait on previous XLIM pods. It sits between simpler Go-series kits and the screen-equipped Pro 3, making it a practical middle-ground option without a display.

Which pods are compatible with the OXVA XLIM 4?

The XLIM 4 uses XLIM Top Fill Cartridge UNITECH 3.0 pods, available in 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, and 0.8ohm resistances. Cross-compatibility with older XLIM V3 or EZ-cartridge pods is not confirmed for this device, so stick to UNITECH 3.0 cartridges to be safe.

What e-liquid works best with the XLIM 4?

For the 0.8ohm pod, use a 50/50 or higher-PG nic salt up to 20mg. For the 0.6ohm, a 50/50 to 60/40 VG blend at 10mg to 20mg works well. For the 0.4ohm, go with a 70/30 or higher-VG liquid at lower nicotine strength to avoid harshness.

How long does the XLIM 4 battery last?

The XLIM 4 has a 1600mAh built-in battery. Real-world life depends on your wattage setting and how often you vape, but on a mid-power setting with the 0.6ohm or 0.8ohm pod, a full day of regular use is realistic for most vapers. Charge via Type-C at 5V/2A.

Why does the XLIM 4 only prime in 30 seconds?

The UNITECH 3.0 cartridge uses OXVA's updated coil construction that absorbs e-liquid significantly faster than standard mesh coils. Most pod coils need three to five minutes of resting after filling. The UNITECH 3.0 cuts that to around 30 seconds, which makes pod swaps on the go far more practical.
