XROS 5 Mini: No lights come on and the device does nothing

You press the button or draw on the device and nothing happens at all. No LEDs light up, no vibration, no vapour.

Why this happens

  • Battery fully discharged or over-discharged. The manual flags low voltage / over-discharging as a cause of the device stopping and showing no response. A deeply drained battery may not even show the low-battery flash.
  • Protective sticker still on the pod (first use). The preinstalled pod ships with a sticker covering the coil. If it has not been removed, the device cannot fire correctly and may appear completely dead.
  • Faulty or incompatible charging cable or power source. A damaged USB-C cable or a non-standard charger can prevent the battery from receiving any charge, leaving the device unresponsive.
  • Dirty connection pins between battery and pod. The manual notes that dirty pins at the battery-to-pod connection can affect device performance.

How to fix it

  1. Remove the pod and check for the protective sticker. If this is your first time using the device, pull the pod out and tear off the sticker on the underside of the preinstalled pod before reinserting it. This is the most commonly missed first-use step.
  2. Charge the device via USB-C. Connect the included Type-C cable to the device and plug it into a standard USB power source. The LEDs should begin flashing in a 1-to-4 sequence to confirm charging has started. Leave it to charge fully; all four LEDs staying on solid means the battery is full.
  3. Try a different USB-C cable and a standard USB charger. If no charging light appears at all, swap the cable and use a different USB power source rated at a standard output. The manual specifies 2 A charging and a standard USB output charger with proper current and voltage range. Avoid laptop USB ports or non-standard chargers.
  4. Clean the connection pins. Remove the pod and use a dry cotton bud to gently wipe the metal pins at the point where the pod meets the battery section. Reinsert the pod firmly and try again.
  5. Allow a longer charge if the battery is deeply discharged. A severely over-discharged battery may take several minutes before the LEDs respond. Leave it connected for at least 15 minutes before concluding there is no charge activity.
  6. Contact support if none of the above resolves it. The manual states the device should only be repaired by Vaporesso and that you should not attempt to repair it yourself. If the device still shows no signs of life after charging and checking the above steps, contact Vaporesso support or the retailer for a replacement.
