XROS 5 Mini: Four Lights Flash 5 Times and Device Stops Working

All four LED lights flash together five times in quick succession and the XROS 5 Mini stops firing. This is the device's built-in protection responding to a low resistance or short-circuit reading at the pod connection.

Why this happens

  • Pod coil resistance has dropped below the safe threshold, triggering the short-circuit protection cut-off
  • Dirty or wet contacts between the pod and the battery well are causing a false short-circuit reading
  • A faulty or damaged pod is presenting an abnormal resistance to the device

How to fix it

  1. Remove the pod immediately and inspect it. A five-flash cut-off means the device has detected a low resistance or short-circuit condition, so do not keep trying to fire it with the same pod in place.
  2. Clean the contacts on the underside of the pod and inside the battery well using a dry cotton bud. Moisture or e-liquid residue on the pins is a common cause of false short-circuit readings. The manual specifically notes keeping the connection pins clean for best performance.
  3. Reinsert the same pod firmly and test. If the five flashes repeat, the pod itself is the most likely cause.
  4. Try a different pod. If the device fires normally with a new pod, the original pod has a faulty or failed coil and should be replaced.
  5. If the device still flashes five times with a known-good pod and clean contacts, the fault is internal. Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Contact Vaporesso or return the unit, as the manual states repairs must only be carried out by Vaporesso.
