Vinci S: Red light flashes five times and device stops firing
You press the fire button and the red LED flashes five times, then the device stops firing. This is the built-in short circuit protection cutting in to keep you safe.
Why this happens
- A short circuit detected at the pod-to-device connection, the most common trigger for this protection
- Dirty or damaged golden contact pins on the pod or device, causing an irregular electrical connection
- A faulty coil or pod that is creating an abnormal resistance reading
- E-liquid residue bridging the contacts and causing a false short circuit signal
How to fix it
- Remove the pod from the device immediately and set it aside.
- Inspect the golden contact pins on both the base of the pod and inside the device bay. Look for e-liquid residue, debris or visible damage.
- Clean the golden pins gently with a dry cotton bud or a piece of dry tissue. Make sure no moisture remains before reinserting the pod.
- Reinsert the same pod and try firing again. If the five-flash red light returns, move to the next step.
- Try a different pod and coil combination. If the device fires normally with a fresh pod, the original pod or coil is faulty and should be replaced.
- If the five-flash protection still triggers with a known-good pod, do not attempt to open, modify or disassemble the device.
