NeXLIM 2: Screen shows 'TIMEOUT' and device stops firing
The screen displays 'TIMEOUT' and the device stops producing vapour mid-puff. This happens when a single puff runs longer than 8 seconds.
Why this happens
- The fire button was held down for more than 8 seconds, triggering the built-in over-puff safety protection
- A long, slow draw on a restricted airflow setting caused the puff duration to exceed the 8-second cut-off
- The fire button is stuck or being held in by debris, keeping the device firing beyond the safety limit
How to fix it
- Release the fire button immediately, or stop drawing if you are using draw-activation. The 8-second cut-off is a safety protection and the device will not fire while it is active.
- Wait a moment after releasing the button or ending your draw. The protection resets automatically once the puff has ended, and normal operation resumes straight away.
- If you use the fire button, check it moves freely and is not stuck or obstructed. Clear any debris around the button with a dry cloth.
- Keep future puffs under 8 seconds. If you prefer longer, slower draws, take a brief pause between puffs rather than holding the button continuously.
