NeXLIM 2: Screen shows 'SHORT' or short circuit warning
The screen displays 'SHORT' and the device stops firing. This is the built-in short circuit protection cutting in to keep you safe.
Why this happens
- Dirt, e-liquid residue or condensation on the cartridge bottom contacts or the pod port electrode pins, causing a false or real short circuit
- A faulty or damaged cartridge creating an actual short circuit between contacts
- Using a non-OXVA cartridge that is not compatible with the device
How to fix it
- Remove the cartridge from the device.
- Take a clean, dry tissue and carefully wipe the metal contact on the bottom of the cartridge until it is free of any e-liquid, condensation or debris.
- Use a second clean tissue to wipe the electrode contact pins inside the pod port on the device itself, removing any residue.
- Reinsert the cartridge firmly and try firing again. If 'SHORT' clears, the dirty contacts were the cause.
- If the warning persists, try a different cartridge to rule out a fault with the original one. The manual specifically recommends using OXVA brand cartridges to avoid compatibility issues.
