NeXLIM 2: Screen shows 'SHORT' or short circuit warning

The screen displays 'SHORT' and the device stops firing. This is the built-in short circuit protection cutting in to keep you safe.

Why this happens

  • Dirt, e-liquid residue or condensation on the cartridge bottom contacts or the pod port electrode pins, causing a false or real short circuit
  • A faulty or damaged cartridge creating an actual short circuit between contacts
  • Using a non-OXVA cartridge that is not compatible with the device

How to fix it

  1. Remove the cartridge from the device.
  2. Take a clean, dry tissue and carefully wipe the metal contact on the bottom of the cartridge until it is free of any e-liquid, condensation or debris.
  3. Use a second clean tissue to wipe the electrode contact pins inside the pod port on the device itself, removing any residue.
  4. Reinsert the cartridge firmly and try firing again. If 'SHORT' clears, the dirty contacts were the cause.
  5. If the warning persists, try a different cartridge to rule out a fault with the original one. The manual specifically recommends using OXVA brand cartridges to avoid compatibility issues.
