NeXLIM 2: Device not turning on
Last updated
You press the fire button and nothing happens. The device shows no lights and produces no vapour.
Why this happens
- Battery is fully depleted after sitting unused, the most common reason a device appears completely dead
- Device is locked, requiring the five-click sequence to wake it
- Wrong or underpowered charger used previously, leaving the battery insufficiently charged
- Device has triggered the 8-second safety cut-off from a previous long draw and has not reset
How to fix it
- Charge the device for at least 30 minutes using a Type-C cable and a 5V/3A adaptor, as specified in the OXVA NeXLIM 2 manual. Do not use a lower-rated adaptor or a third-party charger not recommended by OXVA, as this can leave the battery undercharged.
- Once charging is confirmed (check for an indicator light), press the fire button 5 times in quick succession, within 2 seconds, to unlock and activate the device. Click at a steady, even pace to ensure the device registers all five presses.
- If the device still does not respond after charging and the five-click sequence, check that the pod is seated correctly in the device, as a poorly seated pod can prevent the device from powering on.
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact OXVA support or your retailer, as the device may require inspection or replacement.
Replacement pods and coils
Worn pods and coils cause most of these faults. We stock the parts that fit the NeXLIM 2.
Other NeXLIM 2 problems
- Screen shows 'NO POD' or device not detecting the pod The screen displays 'NO POD' and the device will not fire. The pod is physically seated in the device but is not being recognised.
- Screen shows 'SHORT' or short circuit warning The screen displays 'SHORT' and the device stops firing. This is the built-in short circuit protection cutting in to keep you safe.
- Screen shows 'TEMP HIGH' or device feels hot The screen displays 'TEMP HIGH' and the device stops firing or feels warm to the touch. This is a built-in safety protection triggered when the internal circuit board temperature gets too high.
- Screen shows 'TIMEOUT' and device stops firing The screen displays 'TIMEOUT' and the device stops producing vapour mid-puff. This happens when a single puff runs longer than 8 seconds.
