DotPod Lite: Feels hot and shuts down
The device becomes uncomfortably hot during use and then shuts itself off. The LED bar flashes rapidly five times over three seconds before the device powers down.
Why this happens
- Over-temperature protection has triggered, most likely because the device has been used heavily in a warm environment above 40°C
- Coil resistance is outside the normal operating range, which can cause excess heat and trigger the same five-flash shutdown
- Exposure to direct sunlight, a hot car, or another heat source has raised the internal temperature beyond safe limits
How to fix it
- Stop vaping immediately and set the device down somewhere safe. If you notice anything unusual such as a strange smell or swelling, move to an open space away from flammable materials.
- Allow the device to cool fully before attempting to use it again. Do not cover it or place it in a bag while it is still warm.
- Check the environment. The device is rated for use between 0°C and 40°C. If you are in a hot car, direct sunlight, or a very warm room, move somewhere cooler before resuming.
- Once cooled, reinsert the pod and try again. If the five-flash shutdown repeats immediately, the pod or coil may be the cause. Try a replacement pod to rule out a coil resistance fault.
- If the device continues to overheat after cooling and with a fresh pod, stop use and contact support. Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself.
