DotPod Lite: Battery light is low, flashing, or not charging correctly
The LED bar is showing a low charge, a single light is flashing, or the device does not appear to be charging as expected when plugged in.
Why this happens
- Battery is critically low: a single LED flashing means the battery is below 5% and needs charging immediately.
- Partial charge remaining: one solid LED means 5%–24% left, two solid LEDs mean 25%–49%, three mean 50%–74%. The device is working normally but needs a top-up.
- Blocked or dirty charging port: lint or debris in the port can prevent a proper connection and stop charging.
- Damaged or incompatible cable or charger: a faulty cable or a charger that is not UL Listed can interrupt charging or fail to start it at all.
- Extreme ambient temperature: the device is rated for 0°C–40°C, so charging outside that range can cause issues.
How to fix it
- Read the LED bar first. Four solid LEDs means 75%–100%, three means 50%–74%, two means 25%–49%, one solid means 5%–24%, and one flashing means below 5%. If a single LED is flashing, charge the device straight away.
- Check the charging port for debris. Inspect the port carefully. If you can see lint or dirt, clear it gently with a dry wooden toothpick. Do not use metal tools or compressed air at close range.
- Use a UL Listed USB wall charger and an undamaged cable. The manual specifies a UL Listed charger. Swap in a known-good cable if the one you are using looks worn or bent.
- Plug in and watch the LED bar. Once connected, the LED bar will display the current charge level. If the lights come on and increase over time, charging is working correctly.
- Charge at room temperature. Keep the device between 0°C and 40°C while charging. Avoid leaving it on a hot windowsill or in a cold car.
- Do not leave the device unattended while charging. The manual is explicit on this. Charge it somewhere you can keep an eye on it.
- If the device still will not charge after the steps above, stop using it and contact the retailer or manufacturer. Do not attempt to open the device, swap the battery yourself, or use an incompatible charger. The manual states you should not disassemble or repair the battery yourself.
