XROS 5 Nano: Screen shows 'LOW RESISTANCE' and device stops working

The screen displays 'LOW RESISTANCE' and the device cuts out and refuses to fire. This is the built-in short-circuit and low-resistance protection activating to keep you safe.

Why this happens

  • Dirty or contaminated connection pins between the pod and the battery, preventing a clean electrical contact
  • A faulty or damaged pod with a coil that has dropped below the minimum resistance threshold
  • E-liquid or debris bridging the connection points and causing an abnormal reading

How to fix it

  1. Remove the pod from the battery section and set it aside.
  2. Check the metal connection pins on both the battery and the base of the pod. If you can see any e-liquid residue, dust or debris, wipe the pins carefully with a dry cloth or cotton bud until they are clean and dry. The manual specifically flags dirty pins as a cause of poor performance and faults.
  3. Reinsert the same pod firmly and try firing again. A poor connection caused by residue is often all that is behind this error.
  4. If the error persists, pull the pod out again and install a fresh, compatible replacement pod. A faulty coil inside the pod can trigger the low-resistance protection and a new pod will confirm whether that is the cause.
  5. If a new pod still triggers the 'LOW RESISTANCE' warning, the fault lies with the battery section of the device. Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Contact Vaporesso support or return the device for assessment, as the manual states repairs must only be carried out by Vaporesso.
