XROS 5 Nano: Screen shows 'BATTERY LOW' and device stops working

The screen displays 'BATTERY LOW' and the device cuts out, refusing to fire. This is the low voltage or over-discharge protection activating to keep the battery safe.

Why this happens

  • Battery has discharged far enough to trigger the built-in low voltage or over-discharge protection
  • Device was left on when not in use, draining the battery further than intended
  • Device has been stored in high or low temperatures outside the recommended 10-40°C range, which can accelerate battery drain

How to fix it

  1. Connect the device to a charger using the Type-C cable supplied in the box. Do not use a third-party cable if you can avoid it.
  2. Use a charger that outputs DC 5V at up to 2A. A phone charger or USB wall adapter at that rating is fine. Avoid fast-charge adapters with higher voltages.
  3. Check that the screen shows the charging animation with the current charge level. If it does, the device is charging normally and the protection has been cleared.
  4. Leave the device to charge until the animation indicates a full charge. The over-charging protection will stop charging automatically at that point, so you do not need to watch it constantly, but the manual advises you do not leave a charging device completely unattended.
  5. Once fully charged, press the fire button to wake the device and confirm it fires normally.
  6. To avoid this happening again, turn the device off when it is not in use and store it within the recommended temperature range of 10-40°C.
