XROS 5 Nano: Screen shows 'BATTERY LOW' and device stops working
The screen displays 'BATTERY LOW' and the device cuts out, refusing to fire. This is the low voltage or over-discharge protection activating to keep the battery safe.
Why this happens
- Battery has discharged far enough to trigger the built-in low voltage or over-discharge protection
- Device was left on when not in use, draining the battery further than intended
- Device has been stored in high or low temperatures outside the recommended 10-40°C range, which can accelerate battery drain
How to fix it
- Connect the device to a charger using the Type-C cable supplied in the box. Do not use a third-party cable if you can avoid it.
- Use a charger that outputs DC 5V at up to 2A. A phone charger or USB wall adapter at that rating is fine. Avoid fast-charge adapters with higher voltages.
- Check that the screen shows the charging animation with the current charge level. If it does, the device is charging normally and the protection has been cleared.
- Leave the device to charge until the animation indicates a full charge. The over-charging protection will stop charging automatically at that point, so you do not need to watch it constantly, but the manual advises you do not leave a charging device completely unattended.
- Once fully charged, press the fire button to wake the device and confirm it fires normally.
- To avoid this happening again, turn the device off when it is not in use and store it within the recommended temperature range of 10-40°C.
