Vinci E80: Screen shows 'Atomizer Short'
The screen displays 'Atomizer Short' and the device stops firing. This is a protection alert telling you the mod has detected an electrical short in the coil or pod connection.
Why this happens
- Dirty or e-liquid-contaminated gold contact pins between the pod and mod, preventing a clean connection
- A stuck or non-flexible pin in the mod, stopping proper contact with the pod
- A faulty or shorted coil inside the pod
- E-liquid or condensate in the auto-draw sensor or mod cavity interfering with the connection
How to fix it
- Remove the pod from the mod and inspect the gold contact pins on both the pod base and the mod. If you can see e-liquid residue or condensate, clean them carefully with an alcohol-dampened cotton swab and allow them to dry fully before reassembling.
- While the pod is removed, gently check whether the pin inside the mod is flexible and springs back when pressed. A stuck, flat pin will not make proper contact with the pod. If the pin does not move at all, contact VOOPOO support or your retailer, as internal pin repair is not a user-serviceable task.
- Use an alcohol cotton swab to clean inside the auto-draw sensor area and the mod cavity, removing any e-liquid or condensate that may be causing the short alert.
- Rotate the pod 180 degrees and reinsert it, then try firing again. The manual notes that rotating the pod can improve the connection and is a standard first check.
- If the error persists, remove the current coil or pod and try a different coil or a replacement pod to determine whether the fault is with the coil or with the mod itself. If a new pod clears the error, the original coil or pod is faulty and should be replaced.
