DotPod Max: Screen shows 'Resistance Too High' and the device won't fire

The screen displays 'Resistance Too High' and pressing the fire button does nothing. The device has detected a coil or pod resistance above its supported range and locked out firing as a safety measure.

Why this happens

  • The installed pod or coil has a resistance above 3.0Ω, which is outside the device's supported range
  • The pod is not seated correctly, causing a poor or intermittent contact between the pod and the device
  • The contact pins between the pod and the device are dirty, bent, or obstructed, producing a false or inflated resistance reading

How to fix it

  1. Remove the pod from the device and check the resistance printed on the pod or coil. If it is above 3.0Ω, it is outside the supported range and will not work with this device. Replace it with a compatible pod.
  2. If the pod resistance is within range, reseat the pod firmly. Press it down until it clicks securely into place, then try firing again.
  3. Inspect the contact points on both the base of the pod and the device bay. If there is any e-liquid residue or debris, wipe the contacts gently with a dry cotton bud, allow them to dry fully, then reinsert the pod and test.
  4. Try a different compatible pod if you have one available. If the new pod fires correctly, the original pod is faulty and should be replaced.
  5. If the error persists with a known-good, correctly-rated pod that is properly seated and has clean contacts, the device may have a hardware fault. Stop use and contact customer support.
