What is the Argus Multi-Ohm pod?
A refillable Argus pod with three electrode pins instead of the usual two. Seat it one way round and the G4 reads 1.0 ohm; turn it 180 degrees and it reads 0.7 ohm. A double-press of the button runs both heating elements together for 0.4 ohm, a mode the G4 Mini does not offer.
Which Argus G4 setting to use
1.0 ohm: firm MTL
Output runs from 5W to 14W. It is the tightest draw of the three and the closest feel to a prefilled pod, so nic salts suit it best.
0.7 ohm: loose MTL
Output runs from 5W to 18W, with a little more air and warmth. Nic salts and 50/50 freebase both work, and it is the setting most people end up using day to day.
0.4 ohm: RDL
Output goes up to 35W once unlocked. Pair it with lower-strength freebase, because 20mg salts at this power are harsh for most people.
The airflow slider is stepless, so you can set it anywhere between fully open and fully closed rather than clicking between fixed holes. It never seals completely: one hole stays open at the tightest point, so very tight MTL fans may find it slightly loose. For most people moving from a prefilled pod, it is tight enough.
The screen shows the active resistance, wattage, battery percentage and a puff counter, which some people find useful and others would rather not see.
Argus G4 or G4 Mini?
Both use the same Multi-Ohm pod and a 1650mAh battery. The G4 adds the 0.4 ohm mode, a screen and wattage control; the Argus G4 Mini is lighter and simpler, with no buttons at all.
