Argus P3: Gurgling, spitting or flooded pod
The pod makes a gurgling noise when you vape, spits hot liquid into your mouth, or feels flooded and produces little vapour. This usually means excess e-liquid has pooled in the coil or airpath.
Why this happens
- Overfilling the pod, leaving no air gap at the top
- Drawing too gently, which pulls liquid into the coil faster than it can vaporise
- Condensation buildup inside the pod or chimney over time
- Thin e-liquids (high PG or low-VG blends) wicking too freely into the coil
- Pod left unused for a period, allowing liquid to saturate the coil
How to fix it
- Remove the pod and use a piece of tissue or paper towel to wipe out any visible liquid from the mouthpiece and the inside of the pod connection. Shake the pod gently over tissue to dislodge pooled liquid before reinserting.
- Take a few short, sharp clearing puffs without activating the device (cover the contacts or simply draw without firing) to pull excess liquid up and out through the mouthpiece onto tissue.
- Check your fill level. When refilling, leave a small air gap at the top of the pod rather than filling it completely to the brim. This gap helps maintain the correct pressure for wicking.
- Adjust your draw technique. Take slower but slightly firmer pulls rather than very light, quick drags. A firmer draw helps the coil vaporise liquid at the right rate and reduces flooding.
- If you are using a high-PG or particularly thin e-liquid, consider switching to a higher-VG blend, as thinner liquids flood coils more readily.
- If the pod has been sitting unused for a day or more, prime it with a couple of gentle test puffs before vaping normally, and wipe away any condensation from the mouthpiece first.
- If gurgling and spitting continue after all the above steps, the coil inside the pod may be damaged or worn. Replace the pod or coil head as appropriate.
