Argus Matrix: Screen shows E4 and the device has stopped firing

The screen displays E4 and the device refuses to fire. The indicator light shows red for around five seconds before the device cuts out.

Why this happens

  • The device has triggered its built-in overheat protection, which activates when internal temperature rises too high
  • Use in a hot environment, such as a warm room or direct sunlight, can push the device beyond its safe operating range of 0°C to 40°C
  • Extended or heavy chain-vaping sessions can cause heat to build up inside the device

How to fix it

  1. Stop vaping immediately and set the device down on a flat surface away from direct sunlight or any heat source
  2. Allow the device to cool down fully before attempting to fire it again, this typically takes a few minutes depending on how warm the environment is
  3. Check the ambient temperature where you are using the device, the safe operating range is 0°C to 40°C, so avoid using it in very warm rooms, outdoors in direct summer sun, or near radiators and other heat sources
  4. Once the device has cooled and the E4 message has cleared, try firing again as normal, if the error returns immediately without heavy use, move to a cooler environment and repeat the cooling process
  5. If E4 continues to appear even after the device has fully cooled and is being used within the correct temperature range, stop using the device and contact your retailer or VooPoo support, do not attempt to open or modify the device
