Argus Matrix: Screen shows E3 and the device cuts out mid-puff
The screen displays E3 and the indicator light flashes six times in red, then the device stops firing mid-puff. This happens during a long, continuous draw.
Why this happens
- Continuous fire timeout triggered: The device has a built-in over-time vaping protection that cuts power automatically after an extended continuous fire to protect the hardware. This is the only known cause of the E3 code.
How to fix it
- Release the fire button immediately. As soon as E3 appears and the light flashes red six times, let go of the button completely.
- Wait a moment for the device to reset. The protection circuit resets automatically once the button is released. No button presses or power cycling are needed.
- Take shorter puffs going forward. The E3 cut-off is triggered by an unusually long continuous draw. Keeping your puffs to a normal length will prevent the protection from activating again.
- If E3 appears on short, normal puffs, contact support. If the code fires during draws that are not extended, there may be a fault with the device. Do not attempt to open or modify the device; contact support or the retailer for assistance.
