Argus G4 Mini: Gurgling noise or spitting when inhaling

You hear a gurgling or bubbling sound when you inhale, or you get spits of hot liquid hitting your mouth. The vapour production may also feel reduced or uneven.

Why this happens

  • Flooded coil: excess e-liquid has saturated the coil and is pooling rather than vaporising cleanly
  • E-liquid in the airflow path: liquid has collected in the airflow channel or base of the pod
  • Drawing too hard when inhaling: a sharp, forceful draw pulls liquid into the coil faster than it can vaporise
  • Coil at end of life: a worn coil floods more easily and struggles to vaporise e-liquid efficiently

How to fix it

  1. Remove the pod from the device and set it aside on a piece of tissue.
  2. Hold the device with the airflow inlet facing downward and give it a firm, gentle flick to expel any pooled liquid from the airflow path. Repeat two or three times.
  3. Wipe the airflow inlet and the base of the pod with a dry tissue or cotton bud to remove any remaining liquid.
  4. Reinsert the pod and take a slow, steady draw rather than a sharp, hard pull. A gentler inhale gives the coil time to vaporise the liquid properly.
  5. If gurgling or spitting continues after clearing the liquid, the coil is likely flooded beyond recovery. Replace the coil (or the pod if the coil is built in) and prime it before use.
  6. If flooding recurs repeatedly after fitting a new coil, check your filling technique: overfilling or filling too quickly can introduce liquid directly onto the coil. Fill to the indicated maximum line and allow TBC minutes of soak time before vaping.
