Nera 15K: Pod is not being recognised by the device
You insert the pod but the device does not respond, showing no lights or an error, as though no pod is present. The device may fire briefly then cut out, or do nothing at all.
Why this happens
- Pod not fully seated or inserted in the wrong orientation, so the contacts do not meet properly
- Dirty or residue-coated contacts on the pod or inside the device bay
- Pod not clicked in firmly enough to engage the magnetic connection
- Damaged magnet on the pod preventing a secure connection
- Counterfeit or non-genuine pod with poor-quality or misaligned contacts
How to fix it
- Pull the pod out completely, then re-orient it so the label faces up and the gold contacts face down into the device, then push firmly until you feel and hear a click.
- If the device still does not recognise the pod, wipe the gold contacts on the bottom of the pod with a dry cotton swab. Do not use water, alcohol or any solvent.
- Wipe the contact pins inside the device bay with a separate dry cotton swab to remove any e-liquid residue or debris.
- Try a different pod to rule out a damaged magnet or faulty contacts on the original pod.
- If a new pod is also not recognised, verify the pod is a genuine UK product registered with the MHRA. Counterfeit pods often have poorly made contacts that will not connect reliably. If you are unsure, contact the retailer you purchased from.
