DotMod DotPod Lite 2: Pod is in but device isn't hitting

Last checked

The pod is seated in the device but nothing happens when you draw or fire. No vapour, no indicator light, no response at all.

Why this happens

  • Dirty or oxidised contacts on the pod base or inside the device, preventing a clean electrical connection
  • Spring-loaded pins inside the device stuck in the down position, so they cannot make contact with the pod
  • Pod not seated fully, as the pod sits on top of the battery rather than locking in with a screw fitting, making a loose connection more likely

How to fix it

  1. Remove the pod completely and set it aside.
  2. Take a dry cotton swab and wipe the metal contacts on the base of the pod to remove any e-liquid residue or oxidisation.
  3. Use a second dry cotton swab to wipe the contacts inside the device where the pod sits.
  4. Look into the device and check whether the spring-loaded pins are sitting flush or appear stuck down. If a pin is not springing back up, gently nudge it with a wooden toothpick to free it. Do not use any metal object, as this risks damaging the pins or shorting the device.
  5. Reseat the pod firmly, pressing it down until it sits flat and flush on the device.
  6. Try a draw or fire again. If there is still no response, try a different pod if you have one available, to rule out a faulty pod.
  7. If none of the above resolves the issue, contact the retailer or manufacturer for further support, as the fault may be internal.
