Aegis Legend 5: Battery warning showing or batteries draining unevenly
The device is showing a low battery warning or the two batteries appear to be draining at different rates, even after a recent charge.
Why this happens
- One or both batteries are weak, old or not rated for high-drain use, which is the most common cause of uneven or premature low battery warnings
- The batteries are mismatched, for example different brands, capacities or charge states, causing one cell to work harder than the other
- A poor connection between the batteries and the battery contacts inside the mod
How to fix it
- Swap in a fresh, fully charged set of high-rate batteries. Geekvape specifically recommend high-rate cells for this mod, so standard or low-drain batteries will trigger warnings and drain unevenly.
- If you do not have a fresh set to hand, swap the two existing batteries around so each sits in the other slot, then check whether the readings change. If the imbalance follows a specific battery, that cell is the problem.
- If the warning clears with a new set of high-rate batteries, retire the old cells. Do not mix old and new batteries, or cells from different brands or capacity ratings, in the same mod.
- If the warning persists with a confirmed fresh set of high-rate batteries in good condition, contact Geekvape support or the retailer, as the issue may be with the battery contacts or the mod itself.
