Aegis Legend 5: Screen shows atomiser short or no coil detected
The screen displays an atomiser short or no coil detected warning and the device refuses to fire. This usually appears immediately after fitting a tank or coil, or after a refill.
Why this happens
- E-liquid has seeped into the 510 connection, causing a short or a broken circuit
- The coil is not seated correctly inside the tank
- The tank or atomiser itself has a fault, such as a damaged or incorrectly built coil
How to fix it
- Remove the tank from the 510 connection completely.
- Check the 510 connection on the mod for any visible e-liquid residue. If juice is present, wipe it away with a dry cloth or tissue.
- To displace any juice that has worked its way deeper into the connection, hold the mod firmly and flick it downward a couple of times, then wipe the 510 pin again.
- Check the coil inside the tank is fully screwed in and seated correctly before reattaching.
- Reattach the tank, ensure it is threaded on straight and tightened snugly, then test.
- If the warning persists, try a different tank or atomiser that you know works correctly on another mod. If that second tank fires without issue, the fault is with the original tank or coil rather than the mod.
- If no tank clears the error, or if the 510 pin appears damaged, contact Geekvape support or your retailer for further assistance.
