PIXL 8000: Device firing on its own or getting unusually hot
The device activates without you pressing anything, or it becomes noticeably hot during use or charging. In some cases it may continue firing after you stop drawing.
Why this happens
- Inadvertent pressure on the firing mechanism from a bag, pocket or tight surface
- A fault in the draw-activated sensor triggering unintended firing
- E-liquid leaks or blocked airflow contributing to heat build-up
How to fix it
- Stop using the device immediately if it is hot to the touch or firing on its own, and remove it from charging if it is connected.
- Allow the device to cool down fully in an open, safe space before handling it further.
- Check for e-liquid leaks around the pod and airflow vents, as liquid ingress can interfere with the sensor and cause heat build-up.
- Avoid carrying the device loose in a tight pocket or bag where pressure could activate the firing mechanism; use a protective sleeve or store it upright instead.
- If the device continues to auto-fire or overheat after these steps, stop using it entirely and contact authorised support, as persistent overheating can indicate a serious internal fault.
