Nord 6: Battery draining too quickly
The battery runs out noticeably faster than it used to, or you are finding yourself charging several times a day just to get through normal use.
Why this happens
- Heavy daily use: high-frequency vaping drains the battery faster than the charge cycle can keep up with, particularly on higher power settings
- Battery degradation: lithium-ion cells lose capacity over time, typically becoming noticeable after 1-3 years of regular use
- Deep discharge cycles: repeatedly letting the battery run completely flat accelerates capacity loss over time
- Charger or cable issue: a faulty or non-original USB-C cable can result in slow or incomplete charging, making the battery appear to drain faster than it should
How to fix it
- Charge before the battery drops below 20%. Avoiding deep discharges is one of the most effective ways to slow battery degradation and maintain usable capacity for longer.
- Use the original USB-C cable and a reliable wall adapter. Third-party cables can deliver inconsistent charge rates, meaning the battery may not reach a full charge even when it appears to have done so. If you have lost the original cable, use a quality USB-C cable rated for the correct output.
- Carry a power bank if you are a heavy user. If your usage is genuinely high throughout the day, a portable power bank lets you top up on the go rather than running the battery into deep discharge territory.
- If the problem persists and the device is 1-3 years old, consider replacing it. Battery capacity loss beyond a certain point is not recoverable. If none of the above steps improve battery life and the device has had significant use, the cell has likely degraded past the point of practical use and a replacement pod kit is the appropriate next step.
