DotMod DotPod vape kits
The DotMod DotPod range is four refillable pod kits, from the buttonless 1000mAh DotPod Lite to the 60W DotPod Max V1.5 and Max Lite. They look like one family, but they split into two sizes with different pods, so the kit you choose decides which pods you buy afterwards.
What is the DotMod DotPod?
A refillable pod kit from DotMod, the brand behind the DotBox mods. You fill a 2ml pod with your own e-liquid and replace it when the coil wears out. The two Max kits run up to 60W and can take a replaceable DotCoil, so they cover a looser direct lung draw as well as a tight mouth to lung (MTL) one.

The Max Lite fires by button or on the draw, the Max V1.5 and Plus by button, and the Lite on the draw alone, with no button or screen at all.
Which pods fit
The DotPod Max V1.5 and Max Lite share DotPod Max cartridges, either with the coil built in or as an empty cartridge that takes a DotCoil. The DotPod Plus takes DotPod Plus pods in 0.4 to 1.0ohm, and the DotPod Lite takes dotPod pods in 0.6 to 1.0ohm. Every pod holds 2ml, so check the pod named against your kit before ordering spares.

1. Max or not
The real split in this range is between the two Max kits and the two smaller ones. Take a Max if you want a direct lung draw as well as mouth to lung, or the longest time between charges; take the Plus or Lite if you vape mouth to lung and have no use for 60W.
2. Choose the kit
- Take the DotPod Max V1.5 for 2100mAh and up to 60W with single-button control and three screen themes. It takes the same cartridges as the original DotPod Max, so older spares still fit.
- Take the DotPod Max Lite for the same 2100mAh and 5 to 60W, with firing on the draw as well as the button.
- Take the DotPod Plus for 1500mAh and up to 35W in a zinc alloy body, with a 0.96 inch colour screen and a 0.4 and 0.6ohm pod in the box.
- Take the DotPod Lite if you want nothing to set: it fires on the draw, sets its own power up to 30W and comes with a 0.6ohm pod. Bring your own USB-C cable, as one is not included.
3. Max V1.5 or Max Lite?
On paper these two are close. They share the battery, the power ceiling, the screen and the cartridges, and the main difference is how they fire.

If you like to inhale and go, take the Max Lite. If you would rather press to fire every time, the V1.5 does exactly that and nothing else.
4. Choose the resistance and e-liquid
- 1.0ohm: the tightest mouth to lung draw, suited to a nic salt. Every DotPod takes a 1.0ohm pod.
- 0.6 to 0.8ohm: a looser restricted lung draw, happy with a nic salt or a 50/50 freebase.
- 0.3 to 0.4ohm: an open, lung-style draw with more vapour. On a Max kit with a DotCoil, this is where a high VG shortfill belongs.
Outside the Max kits, keep to 50/50 or 70/30. A thick shortfill wicks too slowly through a small pod coil and tastes burnt.

Is the DotPod Max V1.5 the same as the DotPod Max?
It is the updated version. The V1.5 carries a 2100mAh battery and up to 60W, and it takes the same cartridges as the original DotPod Max, so any spares you already own still fit.
What pods does the DotPod Max take?
DotPod Max cartridges. They come with the coil built in, in 0.4, 0.6 or 1.0ohm, or as an empty cartridge that takes a replaceable DotCoil, including a 0.3ohm. Both types hold 2ml and fit the Max V1.5 and the Max Lite.
Is there an RBA for the DotPod Max?
Not in our range. The Max kits here take DotPod Max cartridges or an empty cartridge with a DotCoil, which gives you a choice of coils without building your own.
Do DotPod Plus pods fit the DotPod Max?
No. The Plus takes DotPod Plus pods and the Max kits take DotPod Max cartridges, so buy pods named for the kit you own. The DotPod Lite uses its own dotPod pods as well.
Is there a DotMod DotPod Pro?
Not in our range. The four kits here are the Max V1.5, Max Lite, Plus and Lite, and the two Max kits are the most powerful at up to 60W.
Which DotPod is best for a beginner?
The DotPod Lite, if you want nothing to learn. It fires on the draw, has no screen or button, and sets its own power up to 30W. The DotPod Plus is the step up if you want a screen and wattage control on a 1500mAh battery.
Can I use shortfills in a DotPod?
In the Max kits, yes, on a low resistance DotCoil or the 0.4ohm cartridge at higher wattage. The Plus can manage a 70/30 on its 0.4ohm pod, while the Lite is best kept to nic salts and 50/50.
How long does a DotPod pod last?
About one to two weeks for most daily vapers, though flavour is a better guide than the calendar. When the taste turns flat or faintly burnt, fit a fresh pod. On the Max kits, an empty cartridge with a DotCoil means you replace only the coil.
