What is freebase e-liquid?
Freebase e-liquid is vape juice made with freebase nicotine: the standard, unmodified form, mixed straight into a PG and VG base. It is what bottles held before nic salts arrived, and at the same strength it carries a firmer throat hit. Every bottle on this page is 10ml at 50/50 VG/PG.
What is 50/50 e-liquid?
A 50/50 e-liquid is half vegetable glycerine, half propylene glycol. That balance wicks quickly through the smaller coils in refillable pod kits and MTL tanks, and it carries flavour and throat hit better than a thicker high-VG mix. It is the ratio nearly every pod kit is built around.

Does your kit want a 50/50?
Check the coil or pod resistance before anything else. Refillable pod kits mostly run coils of 0.8 ohm and above, and those are built around a 50/50 liquid, which is everything on this page. A sub-ohm tank down at 0.2 or 0.4 ohm wants a thicker high-VG mix instead. Put a 50/50 in one of those and it floods the coil, spits back and tastes thin.

Can I use freebase e-liquid in a sub-ohm tank?
You can, but it will not vape well. A 50/50 freebase is too thin for a sub-ohm coil, so it floods the wick, spits back and empties the bottle fast. At 12mg or 18mg the throat hit in a sub-ohm tank is harsh as well. Use a high-VG shortfill in a sub-ohm tank and keep the freebase for pod kits.
What is the strongest freebase e-liquid you can buy in the UK?
20mg per ml. UK law caps nicotine in e-liquid at 20mg per ml whatever the type, freebase or salt. The strongest bottle on this page is 18mg, which is Ohm Brew Core only. IVG Original stops at 12mg.
Why does freebase e-liquid only come in 10ml bottles?
Because UK law caps nicotine-containing e-liquid at 10ml per bottle. Anything larger has to be sold with no nicotine in it, which is what a shortfill is: a part-filled larger bottle you top up with a nic shot yourself.
What is the difference between 50/50 and 70/30 e-liquid?
50/50 is half vegetable glycerine and half propylene glycol, and 70/30 is 70% VG. The more VG, the thicker the liquid, the more vapour it makes and the more power it needs. A 50/50 wicks through the narrow coils in a pod kit; a 70/30 needs a sub-ohm coil or it will not keep up. Everything on this page is 50/50.
What wattage should I vape a 50/50 freebase at?
Roughly 10 to 20 watts, or whatever the coil is rated for. A 50/50 does not need much power, and pushing it harder dries the wick faster than the liquid can replace it, which is what makes a pod taste burnt. Most pod kits have no wattage dial at all, because they are already set for this.
Is 18mg freebase too strong for a pod kit?
For most people, yes. 18mg freebase through a 0.8 ohm pod is a hard draw, which is why 12mg tends to be the practical ceiling in a pod kit. If you want high nicotine that stays smooth, a 20mg nic salt does that job instead.
Do freebase e-liquids taste different to nic salts in the same flavour?
Slightly, yes. Freebase reads sharper and more defined, particularly with menthol and citrus, because the firmer throat hit carries the top notes. A nic salt rounds the same flavour off and can make a sweet blend taste sweeter still. The recipe is often identical, so what you are tasting is the delivery rather than a different mix.
Can I mix freebase and nic salt in the same tank?
Yes, as long as both are the same VG/PG ratio and suit your device. The nicotine averages out, so half a 12mg freebase and half a 20mg salt lands around 16mg, and the throat hit sits between the two. Most people end up doing this by accident when topping up rather than on purpose.
Does freebase e-liquid go off?
It does not spoil, but it darkens and the flavour dulls over about a year, faster if the bottle sits in sunlight or a warm car. Every bottle carries a best-before date. We date-check and rotate our liquid stock, so bottles are not sitting here for years before they reach you.
